The Victoria Engineering Club is hosting a LAN Party!

When: 10 am Saturday, 15th October – 10 am Sunday, 16th October
Where: Victoria University, AM102/AM103
How much: VEC members $5; Non-members $10

The usual 24 hours of gaming over gigabit!

What to bring:
~ A computer, no specific requirements but being able to game is a good idea.
~ Your own network cable. (>7.5m)
~ Your own multi-box/extension cables.
~ Only a single monitor.
~ Headphones, no speakers allowed.
~ LOTS of open source software.
~ Food if you want to eat. (or change if you want to buy food there)

Staff/Student quiz

The Victoria Engineering Club is hosting a Staff/Student Quiz

Please come along the first Victoria Engineering Club/Student IPENZ
group Engineering Pub Quiz on Tuesday October 11th at 6pm.

It will be taking place at the Cambridge Hotel

Our aim is to mix in staff with students rather than going for
straight competition. There will be some finger food provided and
prizes (although more for the students).

It is preferred that people either indicate their attendance on the Facebook event, or RSVP to ian [dot] welch [at] vuw.ac.nz with the subject line “PUBQUIZ” by Friday October 7th.

Formal Friday

The Victoria Engineering Club is hosting a Formal Friday event.

When: Friday 9 September 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Where: MCLT103, Vic Uni Kelburn
How much: FREE
Event details:

Come formally dressed — come on, how often do you do it? — and play games on the large projected screen.
We will have a PS3, but feel free to bring your own console.

We provide free pizza, but you must meet our strict dress code.
For extra kuddos and to confuse others we recommend wearing formal dress for the whole day.

We’d appreciate it if those who intend to attend, & have Facebook could indicate so on the facebook event, so that we have a rough idea of how many pizzas to order

5th of March – BBQ lunch + social get together

We’re all going to get together, eat some food courtesy of the Engineering club.
This event will be aimed at introducing  students and staff to each other on a social level.

As the times say this one is NOT 24 hours long, so you should arrive promptly and arrange transport for 2am or earlier

If you do not own one a 5m network cable will be available for purchase for $10 (fair price I’d say)

We’ve held multiple LAN parties over the last 2 years that have always attracted many people, undergraduates, post graduates and even some people who have left University and headed off into the work force.
